Vampire Vineyards is a vampire-obsessed vineyard seated comfortably atop the rolling hills of Creston, California. They are the owners of the Vampire Wine Lounge and Tasting Room located in Beverly Hills, as well as numerous other vampire related products such as Vampyre Vodka, Vampire Coffee, and Vampire Belgian Chocolate.
As the owners of the domain “www.vampire.com,” they wanted to leverage the online potential of the URL and create a community website for vampire aficionados. Based on the recent popularity of vampires in pop-culture, the goal was to create a hub of vampire-related content that would attract massive amounts of traffic. A portal featuring a social network platform, video library, 24/7 syndication of top-related blogs, a music library, and many other features would enable the Vampire Vineyards’ marketing team to sell their related products to vampire lovers everywhere.
Given the size and scope of the project, our team of creative directors, developers, and designers worked in collaboration with the client’s marketing strategy team to develop a user-friendly and intuitive interface. The focus was to deliver and organize a large amount of content in a way that would foster interaction, minimize bounce rate, increase traffic, and extend the average time spent on the site. We also focused on optimizing relevant keywords to drive traffic to the site; the website now receives a #2 Google search result ranking for the keyword “vampire” (a keyword with over 6 million monthly searches). We achieved this by creating engaging and relevant content surrounding the web 2.0 community that encouraged people to share and link back to the site.
The result is an exceptionally well-designed and groundbreaking website. The various ad spaces strategically located throughout the website allow promotion for Vampire Vineyards’ merchandise, linking the interactive web experience to the Vineyard’s online store. The cutting-edge design elements of the website instantly connect the visitor with the brand and set the appropriate mood for a community hungry for vampire products. As a result of our online marketing strategy, vampire.com’s website traffic grew from 20K unique visitors a month to more than 50K monthly visitors in less than 1 year, and sales increased by 380%.
